Pretoria’s historic Saint George Hotel has closed. It was a popular venue for ANC NEC meetings during Jacob Zuma‘s presidency. The hotel ceased operating on Monday.
It says the Covid-19 pandemic, power outages, and service delivery failures have put the business under severe pressure.
Management says the hotel will now be used for different operations. It will help clients find alternate venues for functions. The Saint George Hotel was the site of the decisive ANC meeting that recalled Zuma in 2018.
