Senior officials from KwaNongoma Local Municipality in northern KwaZulu-Natal have been arrested for fraud, theft, and money laundering.
The accused include the Municipal Manager, Chief Financial Officer, and Supply Chain Manager. Others accused include a bodyguard of one of the officials and his wife.
They appeared at the local Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Nongoma has been plagued by killings of councillors.
