Nasty C and Amanda Black to perform at America’s Essence Festival 2019

Local musicians such as Nasty C and Amanda Black will be performing at the upcoming Essence Festival set to take place in New Orleans in July 2019.
The annual music festival, which made its debut in 1995, celebrates a magazine aimed primarily towards African-American women. The Essence Festival is known as the largest event to celebrate the African-American culture in the United States. The festival was held in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, in 2016, which marked the second time it was held outside of its city of New Orleans.

The festival features mainstream artists performing on a main stage, whilst other artists perform in the four standing-room-only super lounge stages. In 2019, the mainstage is expected to showcase multi-award-winning artists such as Missy Elliot, Mary J Blige, Pharrell Williams and a host of other chart-toppers.
