Tebogo Thobejane Chooses Herself as ‘Beyond the Glow’ Era Begins

Tebogo Thobejane’s latest gym post is about far more than fitness. It arrived as the actress and entrepreneur entered a deeply personal new chapter built around healing, discipline and reclaiming her story.

On 22 September 2026, Tebogo shared a video showing herself training in the gym. However, it was her caption that gave the post its real meaning.

“I’m learning that one person you can never afford to disappoint is yourself,” she wrote.

She encouraged herself to keep showing up, including on difficult days. Moreover, Tebogo said her current season was about becoming stronger in every area of her life.

The post appeared shortly after the former Muvhango actress launched her new podcast, Beyond the Glow. Therefore, her message about strength and personal responsibility felt connected to a much bigger reinvention.

Tebogo Thobejane Has Made Strength Her New Priority

Tebogo’s latest post continues a wellness journey she began sharing publicly earlier in 2026.

In July, the media personality revealed that she was no longer obsessed with simply losing weight. Instead, she wanted to shape and strengthen her body through consistent training, high-protein meals and better lifestyle choices.

She also spoke about using creatine, wearing gym clothing that made her feel confident and choosing discipline over excuses.

At the time, Tebogo encouraged women over 40 not to believe that their best years had already passed. She argued that a woman’s forties could mark the beginning of a powerful new chapter filled with greater wisdom and confidence.

Consequently, the new gym post does not look like an isolated motivational message. It forms part of a longer commitment to rebuilding both her physical and emotional strength.

Beyond the Glow Gives Tebogo Control of Her Story

Tebogo has now taken that message of reinvention into the podcasting space.

Her new platform, Beyond the Glow, will explore subjects including healing, motherhood, money, grief, betrayal, trauma and starting again.

The actress wants the podcast to move beyond celebrity gossip and polished social media images. Instead, it will provide space for honest conversations with famous personalities and ordinary women who have survived painful experiences.

Tebogo described the project as part of her healing, growth and purpose. She also wants women to understand that their voices and personal stories matter.

“The glow” in the show’s title does not represent a perfect or trouble-free life. As Tebogo explained, it can simply serve as evidence that someone survived what was meant to destroy them.

That idea makes her latest Instagram caption even more significant. When Tebogo tells followers to show up for themselves, she speaks from experience rather than repeating an empty motivational slogan.

Tebogo Survived a Life-Changing Shooting

Behind Tebogo’s glamorous public image is a traumatic experience that changed the direction of her life.

In October 2023, gunmen opened fire on a vehicle carrying Tebogo and a friend near Morningside Shopping Centre in Johannesburg. Tebogo suffered an injury to her foot, while her friend sustained more serious injuries.

The shooting later became part of a major criminal case involving businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and four co-accused.

The State alleges that the accused were involved in several murder-for-hire plots targeting Tebogo, businessman Joe “Ferrari” Sibanyoni and music producer Seunkie Mokubung, who is known as DJ Vetteys.

The five accused face 25 charges, including 11 counts of attempted murder. However, all five pleaded not guilty, and the case remains before the Johannesburg High Court.

Tebogo has continued following the case while also rebuilding her personal and professional life.

Therefore, her decision to launch a platform focused on survival and reinvention carries considerable weight. She is turning a period of fear, public scrutiny and uncertainty into a story about taking back control.

From Muvhango Actress to Entrepreneur and Podcaster

Tebogo grew up in Soweto before moving to Florida, west of Johannesburg. She later studied film production and entered the entertainment industry.

Many viewers came to know her through her role as Belinda on the SABC2 soapie Muvhango. She also appeared in DiepCity and built several businesses and media projects outside acting.

Still, much of the public conversation around her has often focused on her appearance, relationships and personal difficulties.

Beyond the Glow gives Tebogo an opportunity to change that conversation. Rather than allowing headlines or online gossip to define her, she can now discuss her experiences in her own words.

Furthermore, she wants to create space for other women who have faced betrayal, financial problems, grief or major setbacks.

A Gym Post With a Much Deeper Meaning

Tebogo’s latest Instagram video may show a simple training session, but the timing gives it a deeper meaning.

She is strengthening her body while building a platform centred on emotional recovery. At the same time, she is facing the legal process connected to one of the most traumatic moments of her life.

Her message is clear: personal transformation requires someone to continue showing up, even when motivation disappears.

For Tebogo Thobejane, this new chapter is not only about looking strong. It is about becoming strong enough to tell her own story, support other women and build a future that is no longer controlled by her past.
