Ex-Generations actor Duma Mnqobi drops another song – Fans react

Viewers of Generations: The Legacy are surprised Duma Mnqobi released new music after his 2018 single, Umsindo.

Celebrity blogger Musa Khawula took to X on Friday, 10 May to reveal that former Generations: The Legacy actor Duma Mnqobi has released another single, Bazothini Abantu.

South Africans and fans of the SABC1 soapie took to social media to react to Mnqobi’s new single, Bazothini Abantu (what will people say).

Duma Mnqobi

TshisaLIVE reported in 2018 that South Africans also slammed Mnqobi’s previous single, Umsindo, and music video. Soapie fans were confused about the kind of music he was singing.

The publication adds that viewers were worried that he made music while he was still stuck in his Generations character, Fana.

They predicted the actor and musician was making “ghost music” because his character got killed on the show.

The actor and musician Duma Mnqobi exited Generations: The Legacy in 2018, where he portrayed the role of Fana Mabaso.

Youth Village reports that Mnqobi’s contract wasn’t renewed on the popular soapie. The 40-year-old’s character got killed when he got caught up in his dad Jack Mabaso’s (Vusi Kunene) Machiavellian world.

The actor and musician joined the SABC1 soapie in 2016 when Vusi Kunene returned to his villainous character.

Fana Mokoena’s mother, Nandi Mabaso was played by former Imbewu: The Seed and The River actress Brenda Mhlongo. While his sister, Sphe is played by talented actress Pearl Monama.

@Sid_Zulu: “This man is onto something; let’s all give him a chance.”

@VITO_G_Wagon: “It gets worse every time he releases something.”

@Rebotilemr: “Is he joking? the lyrics?”

@ndlovini_: “He should have asked himself ‘bazothini abantu’ (what will people say) before releasing this.”

@Limpooi17: “Who told him that he can sing mara?”
