To be fair, there was already confusion about whose idea it was to have the public vote for the song of the year. Ukhozi FM decided to terminate the services of Michael Owen Production who claimed to have came with this concept but still continued using their concept without compensating them

This company, in particular, was responsible for running the New Year’s Eve Song of the Year chart for the station. OM Production obtained an interdict against Ukhozi FM which prevented the airing of the song of the year on the station and left many in stitches. Amabhinca further accused Tira of being jealous. This is after Tira told Ntencane not to be fazed by the hype of his fame and song, but focus on being relevant in the industry, and producing good music in the future. The musician who was vying to clinch the coveted title of song of the year was convinced that Tira was jealous of his hit song.

His disgruntled fans took to the socials to express their disappointment. While DJ Tira could not be reached for a comment, his Manager Senzo Shezi said “ I am not aware of what happened at the festival, Tira is currently on Vacation, you must email him to inquire more.”
