Gauteng: At 12H10 Thursday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a one-day-old baby found in the Jukskei River in Waterval Midrand.
Reports from the scene alleged that the one-day-old male had been washed down the river and was caught in a net used to collect rubbish floating in the water.
The patient was assessed on scene by a Netcare 911 Emergency Care Practitioner and say found to have no signs of life and sadly declared deceased on the scene.
Circumstances leading up to the incident will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
