COVID-19 in SA: Cases now at 83 890


The number confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 83, 890. Over 1 million tests have been conducted so far.

There are 63 new COVID-19 related deaths: from the Eastern Cape and 57 from Western Cape.

This brings the number of deaths to 1,737.

“The number of recoveries is 44 920, which translates to a recovery rate of 53,5%,” the Department of Health said in a statement.
