At 09H17 Saturday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the N1 South Bound near the Rivonia Road offramp in Paulshof Sandton.
Reports from the scene indicate that five vehicles were involved in a collision.
An adult female sustained moderate injuries and required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilize her.
The Netcare 911 Rescue Technician had to use the Jaws of Life to free the patient.
Once treated the patient was transported by a private ambulance service to the hospital for further treatment.
