The 25-year-old Protea Glen suspect whose fridge was found with human body parts has confessed and has pointed out where other body parts were disposed of.
This afternoon, police have confirmed that they found a human skull buried in a shallow grave next to Glen Ridge, Westernaria Road (R558).
Police spokeswoman Brigadier Brenda Muridili said the human skull is being linked to the Protea Glen discovery of human limbs in a fridge on Saturday, 13 November.
“These body parts are being connected to a 23-year-old woman from Soshanguve in Pretoria,” she said.
The accused, Flavio Hlabangwane, aged 26 appeared in court on Monday after being discharged from the hospital where he was taken to, after failed suicide attempts.
His case has been postponed to 22 November.
This story has shocked people across Mzansi.
It took place at Protea Glen ext 26 on Saturday afternoon.
Neighbors told the media that they were alerted by a new girlfriend to the suspect that there were human remains in the suspect’s house.
The girl, who is said to be a UJ student, had visited the suspect for the weekend at his place.
When she was hungry, the suspect went to the shops to buy food and while he was away, the girlfriend opened the fridge to find something to eat.
That’s when she made the gruesome discovery.
She went out for help when the suspect returned, he was confronted by the neighbors. That is when he tried to commit suicide.
The landlords where the suspect was renting a room asked for privacy.
They told the publication that this hasn’t even sunk in on them and therefore they need some privacy to digest it.
“We live in a sick society. We are not safe as women,” said a nearby resident Mbalizethu Magubane.
Lungelo Sokhela said: “This guy is a monster. He is not worthy of being called a man. He deserves to be locked away for good.
