It wasn’t me – Rasta denies painting disaster Zozibini Tunzi’s artwork

Lebani ‘Rasta’ Sirenje was once again the butt of all jokes this week after a painting – allegedly of Zozibini Tunzi – went viral on Twitter. The picture showed Rasta standing next to the artwork. The woman in the image appears to have Zozibini’s hairstyle but looks nothing like her – as one would expect from Rasta’s paintings.

Zozibini made headlines all over the world when she was crowned Miss Universe on Sunday, so naturally it didn’t surprise anyone that the celebrity painter would pay homage to the 26-year-old with one of his (in)famous paintings.

Twitter users could not stop laughing, with some saying Rasta made Zozi look like Cruella de Vil from Disney’s 101 Dalmatians, or the singer Grace Jones. The Twitter account using Rasta’s name, which is known for sharing his paintings, set the record straight about the painting doing the rounds. He revealed that the image of the woman in the picture was photoshopped onto one of his old paintings.Rasta shared a side-by-side picture of the original and the fake. The photo on the left is false, it’s Photoshop of the one on right. Pease retweet for awareness,” he wrote.
