The Western Cape has set aside over R1-billion to end the energy crisis.
Premier Alan Winde was speaking at the DA Federal Congress earlier.
He says the province is working on plans to become energy independent and end its reliance on Eskom.
“We also have an energy plan, provinces don’t normally do this.
“We’ve just passed a R1.1-billon budget to provide energy and end load-shedding,” Winde said.
“We are going to produce by 2025 energy coming from the private sector.”
