ANC integrity commission wants members implicated in VBS scandal to step down

The ANC’s national integrity commission has recommended that members implicated in a report on the looting of VBS bank, be asked to step down.

The integrity commission says it’s made the call to the party’s National Executive Committee to protect the integrity and reputation of the ANC.

The party’s Limpopo deputy chairperson and Vhembe mayor Florence Radzilani, as well as provincial treasurer Danny Msiza, have been implicated in the Reserve Bank report on VBS.

Several municipalities have also come under fire for unlawfully investing a total of R1.5-billion in the collapsed bank.

Those named in the report have denied any wrongdoing.
