Supervisor of Aviation Security

An exciting vacancy exists at George Airport for a suitably skilled and experienced individual within the Aviation Security Operations department.

Key Performance Outputs
The successful candidate, reporting to the Assistant Manager Aviation Security Operations will be responsible for the following:

Provide a safe and secure environment by supervising the Security personnel at all Search
Points.
Performance and remedial processes of all staff should be monitored to ensure Security
thoroughness and responsiveness, compliance and adherence to Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs).
Attend Operations meetings and provide feedback as required. Investigate, report and correct all
Security incidents, breaches/deficiencies, and non-conformances and ensure adequate remedial
action. Conduct audits and inspections, identify and report operational risks and ensure
adequate remedial action.
Ensure all internal and external stakeholders comply with Security policies and procedures when
moving through all Security checkpoints by adhering to ICAO, NKP, SACAA and other relevant
Legislation and all ACSA policies and procedures.
Build and maintain sound internal and external stakeholder relations whilst balancing
enforcement with professionalism. Attend to and assist with customer and stakeholder
complaints and compliments, including escalated complaints
Respond to all emergencies in the prescribed manner and ensure the members can respond
effectively.

Technical Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:
A valid Grade 12;
SACAA Supervisory Certificate;
3 years of Operational Aviation Security experience;
Accreditations: NKP Certification; Firearm Competency; SACAA Dangerous Goods, SACAA
Safe Passage, SACAA Basic Aviation Security Screener certification; PSIRA Grade B
registration.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office packages.

The candidate must be able to recognise and resolve conflict promptly and have good verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail is critical along with diplomacy and a composed predisposition to deliver services to both internal and external customers.
