Striking SARS workers vow escalation without resolution

The Public Servants Association says the strike by SARS workers will intensify if an agreement isn’t reached.

Negotiations between unions and the revenue collector are continuing.

Workers are demanding wage increases.

Now, taxpayers who have missed the deadline will be liable for penalties even though branches weren’t open on Thursday and Friday.

But SARS says e-filing and its call centre have been available.
