About Us
A large wholesale bakery based in Linbro Business Park requires the service of a storeroom clerk. The organization supplies bread, rolls, and confectionery to retailers and restaurants throughout the Gauteng region – and feeds approximately 100 000 people a day.
The successful candidate is to be responsible for stock control duties and procedures, and at least 3 years of experience is required for this position.
Key functions of the position
Stock Control
Performs stock receiving activities according to accepted procedures.
Transports stock to appropriate storage area in a timely manner.
Issues stock to production teams as specified on purchase order documents.
Completes computerized receiving reports and transmits receiving documentation (Strong numerical capabilities and knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential.)
Notifies management of any receiving related discrepancies to facilitate request for replacement of damaged goods.
Maintains organized purchase order and receiving documentation files.
Ensure proper dating and categorization of all stock placed in the storeroom.
Monitors temperatures in refrigerated storage areas.
Ensures storeroom cleanliness and adherence to all food hygine requirements.
Assists in the performance of monthly/quarterly/annual inventories.
Notifies management promptly of problems or unusual matters of significance relating to stock.
Other relevant stock control duties as assigned.
Requirements
Matric qualification
Stock control experience in a similar role
Experience with Microsoft Excel
Strong arithmitic skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure without supervision
Well organized and systematic
Good problem-solving skills
Deadline driven
Additional Information
Job type – full time.
This position requires the candidate to work full time during the week and half days on Saturdays.
Remuneration – market-related.
