Eskom has implemented Stage 4 rolling blackouts.
It will continue until Friday morning.
Stage 2 will then be implemented until Monday.
The utility says four generating units tripped in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Eskom said it’s working very hard to avoid Stage 6 blackouts.
