3 simple home remedies for smelly shoes

My mother often says summer is the one season that will expose one’s hygiene.

The increasingly hot weather patterns can easily slip one into a slumber so lazy we don’t bath or clean up adequately after ourselves.

We’re even too lazy to wash our shoes!

According to climatology health, hot temperatures lead to sweaty feet which leave behind moisture in shoes causing unpleasant odours.

If not treated, it can leave the deadliest of smells.

Here are some tips to remedy the situation:

1. Baking soda

Use a coffee filter, some baking soda and a rubber band to make the ultimate odour eliminator.

2. Cotton balls

Drop a few drops of essential oil onto a couple of cotton balls, place them inside the shoes, and leave them overnight.

3. Use the sun

Place your shoes out in the sun. Moisture is a big problem when it comes to stinky shoes. Leaving them in the sun can dry them out and prevent bacterial growth.
