The Health Department has reported a further 144 COVID-19 related deaths, taking the death toll to 12,987.
In Mpumalanga, 46 patients died, 37 in Gauteng, 31 in KZN, 25 in the Eastern Cape, and 5 in the Western Cape.
The Health Department confirmed 3, 707 new cases in the 24-hour hours.
Gauteng is still recording most of the new cases daily.
The country now has just under 90,000 active cases, with a recovery rate of 83%.
