The Public Protector has found that the appointment of former journalist Ranjeni Munusamy at the National Treasury was above board.
Former Finance Minister Tito Mboweni was accused of irregularly hiring Munusamy as a community outreach officer in his department.
Last October, EFF MP Floyd Shivambu lodged a complaint with the Public Protector’s office, alleging that Mboweni violated the Executive Ethics Code. Shivambu also questioned the appointment seeing as Munusamy had been named at the state capture inquiry.
