
President Cyril Ramaphosa has flat out denied being ‘dodgy’, with his CR17 election campaign.
He’s also dismissing allegations that he appointed people who helped him, to government.
Ramaphosa answered questions in the National Assembly on Thursday
The president says there’s nothing untoward about monies being paid from his campaign fund to some ANC leaders.
“There was no and let me repeat, Ther was no wrongdoing or abuse of public funds in the CR17 election campaign,” he said.
According to leaked bank statements, Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula and Deputy Minister of State Security Zizi Kodwa were among those who were paid.
Mbalula has denied receiving any money.
Ramaphosa was responding to DA leader Mmusi Maimane, who wanted to know whether those paid had been rewarded with top positions.
