Rachel Kolisi rejects campaign after being asked to wear more make-up to look professional

Rachel Kolisi has spoken out about being told to wear make-up by campaign bosses in a bid to have a “more professional look. The rugby WAG and activist took to her social media page to reveal that an unknown organisation had requested she have a more made-up look to feature on one of their campaigns.

Needless to say, the mom of two was not having it, and immediately turned them down. She wrote on Instagram; “I recently pulled myself off a campaign because the brand requested “I have a more professional look and wear make-up

Rachel then went on to share her opinion on the matter
Alongside a bare-faced selfie, she added; “I think girls who get up and spend time putting make-up on are beautiful! I think girls who wake up and don’t put make-up on are beautiful too!”

“In a world where, a lot of people are trying to be something they’re not, be you. We need more of that. Sue Duminy, wife of retired cricketer JP Duminy wrote; “I once had feedback from a well-known brand [which] described my content as ‘creepy’…oh how much fun we could have if we name and shame businesses.

Media personality Roxy Burger added; “I had a clause in a contract recently that said they can terminate if I had “any noticeable weight gain”. Let’s say my response was less than polite”.

Radio DJ and Idols SA host Unathi also chimed in; “Thank you for this post Rach, it’s getting out of hand to say the least. I knew that this is not who I am, this is not my brand, and that I would hurt my brand if I wear this clothing on the cover of the magazine.

Unfortunately, Rolene did NOT say no to her wardrobe concerns, a decision she later regretted. There I was wearing the clothes I didn’t want to wear, doing the pose I didn’t want to do…this was a really horrible experience,” she said
