A company based in Paarl is currently looking to appoint a Quality Assistant

Education Qualifications and Work Experience

Degree in Food Science/ B.Tech Food Technology

0-2 years’ experience as a Quality Assistant in a FMCG environment.

Duties, responsibilities and experience

Raw material and Finished product quality control to meet Product Specifications
Process quality control and batch approval of all product before it leaves the factory
Ensure that all the internal rejections have been recorded accurately
Do housekeeping evaluations and take immediate corrective action
Training of Food Safety and CCPs
Sensory Evaluation & Tasting panels skills
Daily Quality documentation and registers
Understanding of a Food Safety Management System in general
Knowledge of HACCP and FSSC 22000
Computer literate, able to generate reports
Sound Understanding of FIFO, Traceability, GMP and Food safety
Quality systems and internal auditing experience
Problem solving, practical and takes initiative
Strong written and verbal communication
Planning, prioritizing and organizing essential
Drive for results and follow-through
Confectionery experience would be beneficial
Market Related Salary
