Eskom board to be revamped – President Ramaphosa

President Cyril Ramaphosa says plans to revamp troubled Eskom are in place. The utility has a debt of over R400 billion.

Ramaphosa says there will be a new-look board for the power utility.

“We also going to revamp the board and we will be repositioning Eskom as we also deal with the restructuring that we have spoken about in relation with Eskom,” he said.

“Eskom holds the fortunes of the life of South Africans and its economy in its hands and it has a very debilitating effect but we are going to address those issues,” added Ramaphosa.
The board chairperson, Jabu Mabuza, resigned Friday night.
