
A woman charged with the murder of two Orange Farm children has abandoned her bail application. Pontsho Mohlanka appeared at the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
She is accused of murdering six-year-old Simphiwe Mgcina and eight-year-old Mpho Makondo in July.
The two children were found dead after going missing the previous day. The 29-year-old suspect is also linked to the murder of another seven-year-old boy, Mzwandile Zitho.

His body was found in a fridge in her tavern earlier this year.
Orange Farm residents had vowed to take law into their own hands if Mohlanka is released on bail.
