The ombudsman for banking services has received a record number of complaints about banks.
Internet banking fraud cases are the biggest contributor. The ombud says internet fraud cases accounted for 19 percent of total complaints received.
This is a 6 percent increase from 2020. The numbers then dropped to a record low of 13 percent.
Standard Bank topped the list of cases opened for the year, followed by Capitec, FNB, Nedbank and Absa. FNB saw a 34 percent decrease in complaints.
