At 07H03 Tuesday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the N2 Murchison. Reports from the scene indicate that a mini-bus taxi transporting school children of various ages and a heavy motor vehicle were involved in a collision.
Medics assessed the scene and found that the taxi driver had sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene.
Another fourteen patients sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious and required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilise many of injured.
Once stabilised all the patients were transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further treatment.
All necessary authorities were on scene.
