A hospital in Bloemfontein is seeking to employ a RN Unit Manager to work in the Accident and Emergency Unit reporting to the Nurse Manager

Critical outputs:

Manage the Unit to meet the requirements of quality patient care, ensuring that all nursing care activities carried out comply with SANC regulations, relevant legislation and the hospital groups policies and procedures
Manage Accident and Emergency Unit
Manage nursing staff to ensure adequate and cost-effective staffing, promoting operative working relationships, performance management and quality output.
Manage the unit’s budget, including control and maintenance of equipment, pharmacy stock, under/over recovery, stock holding, gross profit margins and debtors.
Co-ordinate the unit’s activities with all other departments to ensure optimal utilisation and effectively manage the ward resource management system.
Maintain hygiene & safety standards in the unit ensuring adherence to policies & procedures
Participating in change management and development projects that affect the hospital.

Required Skills
Nursing Management experience : 4 to 5 years

Candidate Requirements

Requirements

Applicant must have full SANC registration as a Registered Nurse
Trauma qualification will be highly advantageous
Unit Manager experience will be an advantage
Leadership and people management skills is an advantage
Understanding of the labour legislation
Experience in the private healthcare industry
Computer literate
Drivers licence and ability to travel
