Actress Ntando Duma quits The Queen for Netflix series

25-year-old Ntando Duma is said to be leaving the popular Mzansi Magic drama The Queen after having been with the show for a year.

Ntando joined the show last year July as part of Rapulana Seiphumo’s family which includes Isibaya’s former actress Jessica Nkosi.

In this one year, Ntando’s character Mpho has been trialled and tested and viewers saw how emotionally taxing these scenes were for the actress.

Tweeps were not convinced by Ntando’s acting, some even called for her removal from the show. This did not stop the actress from coming in every week and putting what seems like her best performance on her scenes. She did not let social media trolls get to her.

She was accused of not showing emotion every time a scene required that she pour her heart out. For example, in the scene where Mpho found her husband, Schumacher with another man in bed, tweeps said that she dismally failed at summoning her emotions. Her emotions did not come to the party. Needless to say, a lot was expected from Mpho and she did not deliver. This forced people to try and get her to leave the show.

Well, it did not happen when tweeps asked for it but it seems their wishes have been granted regardless of the time it took for it to happen.

Ntando is said to be joining a Netflix series that will see her become the lead. This is a great career move for Ntando and we do hope people will give her a chance and allow her to grow and perfect her craft without judgement.

Ntando’s departure on The Queen follows the departure of fan favourite muscle man, Loyiso MacDonald. Loyiso left the show after being with them for five years.

On the show, he left with Goodness (played by Zenande Mfenyana) to start a new life and raise their daughter in a good environment, away from drugs. The fact that Loyiso was not killed in the show, it may mean that he may come back sometime in the future.
