You know what they say. When you know, you just know! And Thulani knew. He knew Nombeko would the woman he spends the rest of his life with.
The couple meat in 200 in King William’s Town, in the Eastern Cape. The couple shared a mutual friend and it’s this friend, who seemed to speed things up for them, LOL!
Thulani was quite frank with Nombeko on the day they met, telling her exactly how he felt about her: He wanted to make her his wife. Well, she was a little sceptical about it because she thought he was just joking and only agreed to start dating him after about a month of courtship.
In 2003, Thulani requested for a meeting with Nombeko’s family for the purpose of asking for her hand in marriage. However, Nombeko asked that they postpone this process because her mother was gravely ill at that time and she had to look after her.
Lobola was paid but Nombeko remained home, taking care of her mother. Sadly, she passed away a few months later. It was a difficult time for the whole family.
The following year, they had their traditional wedding. The one challenge that stands out for them, as newlyweds at that time was financial difficulties. Thulani was the breadwinner and it was hard for them to make ends meet. But he was determined to keep her happy at all times, and luckily they overcame this challenge.
The couple has three children, boys. And they are really excited about the wedding because they were not there when their parents had their traditional wedding. Also, this is the couple’s dream wedding, and they invite you to share this special moment with them.
I appreciate the fact that Vele is multilingual. It's honestly something that we take for granted with Tshivenda speaking people #OurPerfectWedding
