Songstress and fashion designer, Nhlanhla Nciza is well underway of going back to her maiden surname – Mafu. Almost thirteen years ago, Nhlanhla gracefully switched to using the Nciza surname when she got married to TK Nciza. In an article that was published on Sunday Sun, it stated that the award-winning musician invited close family and friends to her upmarket home in Northriding for a traditional ritual that would see her “return” to the Mafu ancestors – as per their culture after a woman has divorced.
Fans of Nhlanhla were shocked after she announced the break down of her 13 year long marriage to former record label boss, TK Nciza. The former couple did not divulge the reasons behind their divorce, however, the streets of Twitter were quick at coming through with some really hot tea! It was allegedll that TK Nciza has been having quite a public affair with his alleged mistress, Lebohang Phahla. Various sources claimed that TK bought a house for Lebo not too far away from his own matrimonial home at the time. This level of disrespect was allegedly what broke the camels back, amongst other things.

“This is in line with the tradition that when she was accepted by the Ncizas, there was a ceremony from her family to announce her departure to her in laws.””And now that she’s divorced, she’s announcing her return to the family.
The mother-of-one is ready to turn the next chapter of her life. Another source revealed that Nhlanhla has already done the necessary paperwork at the Department of Home Affairs to change her surname back to Mafu. She’s waiting for her new ID, so she can officially change most of her things in line with her maiden surname. The gorgeous Nhlanhla has always been a solid ten, however we can’t help but notice that her #DivorceGlowUp is on fleek!
