Water and Sanitation Minister, Senzo Mchunu, is on a two-day visit to the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.
Mchunu is addressing the intervention by the national government in the water crisis plaguing the Metro.
It’s estimated that dams will run dry in this region within 20 days.
Mchunu says the Metro’s daily water consumption will be reduced from 280 megalitres to 230 megalitres.
He’s urged residents to use water sparingly.
