MetroFm is in hot water once again for upsetting its fans and followers. Just when we thought things were getting back in order at the MetroFm station, another problem creeps up. These morning fans were appalled by the opinion poll that featured on #theWkndr about South Africa’s newly crowned Miss SA 2019, Zozibini Tunzi.
This comes after the whole nation celebrating the history-making moment of a Miss South Africa with short natural hair and #melaninOnFleek. We truly have reached a milestone now that we have a Miss SA whose looks represent many South African girls who previously have been misrepresented in beauty pageants.
Zalebs like Bonnie Mbuli celebrated this moment, saying: What a time to be alive…my Miss SA is a girl who looks just like me. The poll ran by MetroFm, therefore, served as a huge slap in the face as far as this milestone is concerned.
Really trying to understand the thought process behind this since deleted poll. Why Metro FM? pic.twitter.com/BhSM4ztOUA
