ANC member of Parliament Mduduzi Manana wants to have his day in court to clear his name, said his lawyer Michael Motsoeneng.
Last week, his domestic worker Christine Wiro opened an assault case against him, but later withdrew the charges.
Manana has since denied the claims, threatening to open a case of extortion against Wiro.
But, a day after denying the claims, an audio recording of Manana offering to pay off Wiro surfaced.
In 2017, Manana was convicted on three counts of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, after he assaulted a woman at a nightclub
