Half-time: Japan 0-0 Poland #WorldCup

Half-time: Japan 0-0 Poland A first half to forget comes to an end. Japan are looking good to get the point they need from a Polish side whose only interest seems to be in getting this game out of the way and boarding the plane home.

Half an hour has gone by but it feels like an hour in this game. This game needs a spark badly. A goal for Poland (who have been eliminated) would leave Japan in a dangerous position but both teams haven’t threatened.

WHAT A SAVE!!! Finally, a clear cut chance in this game and the Japanese GK Eiji Kawashima pulls off an absolute blinder. Grosicky gets his head on a cross and the effort seems headed towards the far corner, only for Kawashima to get across and claw the ball away sensationally. Shades of Gordon Banks there. Possibly, the save of the tournament.

Apart from that Grosicky chance, the game has been dull and it reflects in the scoreline as the teams break for half-time. As things stand, Japan and Senegal are going through from this group.
