COVID-19: Funeral parlours running out of space

Funeral parlours might soon be at capacity as COVID-19 related deaths continue to increase, according to the South African Funeral Practitioners Association.

It seems some funeral parlours are struggling to keep up.
Sopema Funeral Services CEO, Monageng Legae said, “it has never been like this. Currently, we are going to fetch others and people are not understanding the level we are at, at this moment.

“Business is not booming, we are not seeing our profits because we are actually spending on our profits. The South African Funeral Practitioners Association called on Home Affairs to clear backlogs by issuing death certificates faster.
