Fifa World Cup - Russia 2018

Full-time Sweden 1 – 0 Switzerland #WorldCup

Sweden 1-0 Switzerland A game that was extremely low on quality, but quite entertaining nonetheless ends with Sweden advancing to the quarter-finals courtesy of a heavily deflected goal from Emil Forsberg. A stout display of defending followed and it was enough to see them into the last eight of the World Cup, where they will meet Colombia or England.

Sweden find a way through. Forsberg receives the ball on the top of the box and fires at the target. The ball hits Akanji and is deflected to the top corner. The shot was on target so the striker claims the goal. 23 minutes left for the Swiss to respond.

Penalty awarded to Sweden. The Swiss are caught out as they press for the equaliser and the Swedes counter. Martin Olsson is put clean through on goal. Long trips him from behind and the ref points to the spot.

VAR intervenes and suggests that the foul happened just outside the box. So its a freekick. However, Long being the last defender is shown the red card. End of the tournament for him and the Swiss possibly.

The ref blows the final whistle and the Swedes have gotten the better off the Swiss. NO Zlatan NO Problem. They march on to the quarters and will face the winner of England & Colombia.
