NMB taxi operators fuming over fuel price hike

Taxi operators embarked on a shutdown of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro on Thursday.

They were fuming over the high fuel prices, saying they can’t operate in conditions where all they’re working for goes to fuel.

They blocked the N2 which connects Western Cape to the Eastern Cape.

Police said eight taxis were impounded and two taxi operators were arrested for public violence.
