The number of COVID-19 cases in South Africa has risen to 471,123.
The Health Department has reported 240 new COVID-19 related deaths: 34 from Eastern Cape, 156 from Gauteng, 27 from KwaZulu Natal, and 23 from Western Cape.
This brings the number of total deaths to 7,497.
Over 2.8 million tests have been conducted so far.
The country’s recovery rate has improved even further to 63 percent.
This means nearly 330,000 people have already recovered.
