Former eThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede returns to the Durban Commercial Crimes Court on Thursday.
Gumede and 16 others are facing charges of corruption and fraud relating to a R430-million waste tender. She is out on R50,000 bail.
Speaking ahead of her appearance, Gumede lashed out at the National Prosecuting Authority, saying it charged her without a diligent investigation.
Gumede was removed from her mayoral position after she was charged and just recently, she was sworn in as a member of the KwaZulu Natal legislature.
