Fergusons – We do not owe anyone an explanation as to how we manage our finances

Connie and Shona Ferguson have broken their silence over allegations they underpay staff and treat them badly. This came after actress Vatiswa Ndara wrote an open letter to Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa claiming she was exploited by Ferguson Films.

The Fergusons said Vatiswa had asked for R1 million to work on iGazi season 3 but they negotiated it down to R700 000. She claimed she was offered R110 000 for five weeks on set. The couple said Vatiswa’s agent pulled out of negotiations and her manager took over and wouldn’t accept less than R700 000.

Their statement read: “Shona and Connie Ferguson have other business interests apart from their production company and DO NOT owe anyone an explanation as to how they manage their finances and lifestyle. The jab from Ms Ndara is petty and uncalled for.
