To manage Company Technical and Engineering and be its Accounting Officer so as to drive Company Group’s capital projects and engineering services. OUTPUTS: Develop, implement and monitor a strategy for Company Technical and Engineering Lead and direct the EXCO to determine a vision and strategy for the Division (aligned to Company Group strategy). Provide strategic direction in the development of standards/operational guidelines and the enforcement thereof. Determine the Division’s objectives, deliverables, demands, legal implications etc. • Create and maintain a climate conducive for performance to ensure that the Division delivers against its mandate. Ensure continuous improvement in business efficiencies, projects’ execution etc. • Direct and oversee the: Engineering and Technical services; Accelerated Rolling Stock Program; Provision of Asset Development Services; Provision of Asset Management Services; Execution of Infrastructure Capital Projects; Execution of the Depot modernisation programme; Lease of excess rolling stock; Provision of proper financial management and effective human capital management services Identify and mitigate risk factors and manage compliance to relevant legislation and prescripts: Develop and manage the risk register; Ensure overall accountability for compliance and risk management; Ensure the establishment of control and governance structures and frameworks; Promote and ensure application of effective project management principles, standard operating procedures; etc. Identify and ensure appropriate resources for the management of human resources, physical resources, financial resources, suppliers and business partners etc. Manage human resources, quality of work and financial resources etc. Advice and report to the GCEO and the Board in relation to the execution of functions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Relevant Post Graduate Qualification in Engineering. Registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) Minimum 15 years’ Experience in Engineering and Technical field with at least five years Project Management experience. Minimum 10 Years’ experience at Executive Level
