Driver shot in alleged hijacking

KwaZulu-Natal: At 01H00 Wednesday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting at a petrol station on Aurora Drive in Umhlanga Ridge.

On arrival, medics found an adult male driver who had sustained two gunshot wounds.

It was alleged that the patient was involved in an attempted hijacking at an unknown location when he was shot.

The man then drove to the petrol station in search for help.

The patient was treated and stabilised by an advanced life support paramedic before being transported to the hospital for further care.

A 37-year-old police sergeant has been hospitalized after he was accidentally shot in the leg on Friday evening.

The alleged shooter, who’s said to be a 40-year-old constable, is apparently a colleague!
