IPL 2018: Delhi Daredevils beat Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday ensuring Shreyas Iyer begins his captaincy stint with a win. Delhi Daredevils have finally managed to carve out a much-needed win at their home ground in Feroz Shah Kotla after beating KKR by 55 runs on Friday. DD was last in the points table with five wins out of sixes games and need to win at least six of their remaining eight matches.

Hence, this win will be a crucial step in their goal. After Gautam Gambhir stepped down as the captain Shreyas Iyer led the team with aplomb, scoring a blistering 93 off just 40 balls to power DD to 219/4 in 20 overs. In reply, KKR could only manage to score 164/9. The 55-run margin of victory was also DD’s biggest win against KKR.

Delhi Daredevils have won the match by 55 runs after restricting KKR to 164-9.  This was also their biggest win against KKR. What a start for young Shreyas Iyer. Two important points for DD, KKR, on the other hand, have a lot to ponder about. Amit Mishra was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/23 in 4 overs.
