Boity Thulo gave a lesson on how to reinvent yourself successfully. She went from average TV presenter and actress to top rapper topping charts and cherry on top-performing on the SA Idols stage in her first year in music.
DJ Zinhle Jiyane
DJ Zinhle’s brand grew even bigger in 2019 with many collaborations with major brands. Her wristwatch brand made history when it collaborated with American Swiss. But her biggest win has to be dominating all the charts with her hit single ‘Umlilo’ which recently hit platinum in sales.
Bonang Matheba
Bonang’s reign continued as she broke new boundaries becoming the first black woman in South Africa to be added to the Méthode Cap Classique Association. Her alcohol beverage has been successful as it has taken the place of its competitors as the official celebratory partner of many major events. Bonang also became the first female and third overal South African to be interviewed on America’s popular radio show, The Breakfast Club.
Nomzamo Mbatha
Besides her collaborations with some of the biggest brands in the world continuing to thrive. Nomzamo won the year when she secured her first role in a major Hollywood production, ‘Coming 2 America’ alongside the original cast.
Mihlali Ndamase
Mihlali was named in the Instagram Top 10 Rich List alongside other influencers like billionaire Kylie Jenner. She also made history after being one of the first South African YouTubers to be invited to the YouTube Black in Atlanta. Not forgetting her Masterclasses collaborations with beauty giant Revlon, a first of its kind.
