Cassper Nyovest speaks on Boity Thulo’s rap career. With the level of expertise that he’s attained over the years, he has also gained a reputation that allows him to share his opinion about some of the talents in the industry. However, one person he never thought he would ever have to share his perspective on, is his ex-girlfriend Boity Thulo.
Rapper and record label owner Casper Nyovest has been in the entertainment industry for several years and has made a massive impact and contribution.
Speaking to Mo Flava and Masechaba Ndlovu in a recent interview on Metro FM, the Doc Shebeleza hitmaker acknowledged that Boity has a genuine passion for rap. “I know she’s passionate about rap music. Like, people don’t know Boity can rap. She probably can rap some of my albums like back to back, word for word, the whole album.”
Cassper shared that he’s seen her rap Kendrick Lamar’s Good Kid, M.A.AD City album from the first track to the last. “So, she’s mad passionate about the music,” the rapper said on the show.
Cassper went on to admit that when Boity decided to pursue a career in music, he was sceptical about her decision, and even had Pearl Thusi reprimand him for his uncertainty.
“When she decided to make music, I’m like mad sceptical about it, I even spoke to Pearl about it, she knows I was like, ‘you know what I’m saying, she’s taking it seriously, she’s having fun, I don’t know, I’m looking from the outside like I don’t know what’s gonna happen’. Pearl is like mad supportive like ‘you hating, she’s gonna kill it’,” he said.
Cassper is adamant that he was surprised and impressed with the success of Boity’s debut single Wuz Dat, and wants to hear more.
“Just to see someone embark on something and start from that and people really gravitate towards that and the support she’s getting, I can’t really hate on that it’s a beautiful thing to see… She caught me by surprise… Boity can keep secrets… Everything that you guys found out as the public I also found out the same way.”
He said he thinks her song is dope, but he’d like her to do more stuff. Let’s hear ten more than I could share my opinion but it’s dope, it’s way better than what I expected it to be but Nadia’s song is fire though.”
