Khanyi Mbau opens up about expanding her family. During our exclusive interview with the star, she revealed that her daughter Khanukani, has plans of establishing her name in the entertainment industry. She said she hopes that her baby girl, who is also known as Khanz will become her happy ending by becoming a success.
Motherhood is one of the aspects of Khanyi’s brand that she shares on her social pages with her fans, and like many other celebrity parents, she has allowed her daughter the opportunity to also share her life on Instagram.
“My daughter has it all planned out,” Khanyi said.
“People always think that we channel our kids, you can never channel your child. She’ll say, ‘I want fans, mommy. They must scream my name’. That’s not me, that’s her own calling and she has chosen that.” The Abomama actress shared that her daughter asked if she could be on Instagram. “She wants all these things… It’s not the parents. We just need to guide them and see what’s good for them at the time… Let them dream… I allow,” the media personality told ZAlebs.
“I can’t protect her, I can give her the pros and cons,” Khanyi said, adding that she can’t stop her daughter. “If she wants to get famous, she’s gonna get bad articles especially because she’s attached to me. The first few years of her career is gonna be based on me… If she decides when she’s twenty to bring me a man who’s fifty, my old story is gonna come back to haunt her like, ‘oh, so it runs in the family, that’s what they do’.”
Fortunately, Khanyi has great support when it comes to parenting her child. Tebogo Lerole’s long-standing relationship with the BET host has involved co-parenting, as they both have children from previous relationships.
They have now become a family. In fact, they have done that part so well together, that they are thinking of extending their family with the hopes of birthing boys. The starlet is convinced that her boys could be “great husbands to your daughters”.
Speaking about expanding her family, the former talk show host said: “Our older daughter is against it… Khanz is against it, for now. She loves being the baby, but we’d love to have three more, I think we’re a great combination, it communicates.”
