Our Gqom’ queens, who were recently unveiled as some of the featured artists on Beyonce’s Lion-King inspired album, are our friendship goals. Busiswa had us ‘in our feels’ on Instagram when she shared short videos of her tear-jerking appreciation for her friend, Moonchild Sanelly, during their Rosefest performance.
The two artists – who collaborated on their first track ‘Midnight Starring’ featuring Dj Tira, Maphorisa, Distruction Boyz and Rude Boyz in 2017 – have been through a lot together. From sharing couches, floors, and public transport, to sharing stages. We’ve shared buses and taxis and crappy studios over the past 11 years. We’ve shared many things, ” said Busiswa in the video.
I wanna surprise you with a gift because I wanna celebrate you and I wanna do it in front of everyone because it is important that you celebrate the women in your life,” she added.
Busiswa proceeded to present her bestie with a beautiful portrait which was drawn by artist Nomonde Ngema. The piece is a drawing of Moonchild’s face with her trademark blue hairdo. She continued to give a heartwarming speech about the hardships she has been through with the ‘Makhe’ hit maker.
