Aston Villa make club announcement as NSWE reach major agreement

Aston Villa’s holding company V Sports has reached an agreement to purchase a significant share in Portuguese side Vitoria.

V Sports is a joint venture by Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens and wholly owns Villa. Expanding the company’s portfolio, a club statement from Villa confirmed that V Sports have entered into a sale over a 46% stake in the Portuguese club.

Vitoria currently compete in the Primeira Liga, finishing 6th last season, and previously met Villa in the UEFA Cup, back in 1983. Vitoria’s club president Antonio Miguel Cardoso described Villa co-owner Sawiris as “the right partner which VSC needs in this important moment of our history
