Election season is around the corner and that means for the next couple of months, we’re going to see a lot of people campaigning for their favourite parties. One celebrity who’s already started showing fans where his loyalties lie is AKA.
The rapper has always been open about his political standing, so it is not surprising that he is revealing who he will be voting for in this year’s national elections.
Honestly, this election … I’m going to VOTE ANC … but I don’t know why. I feel like many people feel that way.

Taking to Twitter, the musician announced that he would be voting for the African National Congress (ANC). Over the years, AKA has been a staunch ANC supporter, but his latest tweets don’t seem convincing.
“Honestly, this election … I’m going to VOTE ANC … but I don’t know why. I feel like many people feel that way,” he wrote.
The rapper is not the only public figure who’s making his political standing public. A couple of days ago, Ntando Duma wore an Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) doek and many people thought that she was pledging her allegiance to the party.
I am ANC through and through but I need understanding and reassurance of what we stand for and where we are headed. 💚💛🖤 Dont be afraid to speak out … the ANC belongs to US. This is OUR ANC.

However, in an interview with Isolezwe, the actress and TV presenter set the record straight. “I was sitting at home and came across an EFF doek. I wore it because I realised that it suits me. I took the picture because I had a headache caused by the fact that I had braided my hair. I was asking people how do they go to sleep with their braids because I could not at the time.”
It’s going to be an interesting couple of months. The South African national elections take place in May.
